Christmas 2011

Our Christmas was truly precious this year.  To see the magic and light in B's eyes was breathtaking!

Since I hardly blogged about Christmastime for us at all, I thought I'd give you a little picture update.

We had such a fun day on a chilly Saturday morning taking B to go pick out a tree.  We usually just go down to the little boy scout's christmas tree stand, but decided it would be much more fun to do it this way {or so I tried to convince the hubby}.  B had a blast playing in the trees and watching them cut it down!  We loved being able to help out a local small business owner, as well.

He calls Christmas Trees, "Christmas Towers"!

B was really so much fun to decorate the tree with this year!  Nate collects the Hallmark Airplane Ornaments, which B thought were quite spectacular!

Sharing with B about all the different ornaments was special!

Nate's brother's family sent this awesome Advent book!  Each day had a door that you opened and read a verse.  B could hardly wait each day to open it!  He's talked about it for weeks after, "what about the advent book??"

Nate's parents arrived on Christmas eve morning.  We had a great day together with them and then headed off to the Christmas Eve service at our church.  B did a great job staying quiet the whole service, even when both Nate and I participated in reading scripture!  He loved the candles and singing "Silent Night" at the end of the service!  The Bendaroos helped too :)

B was so excited when I woke him up on Christmas morning!  He just kept giggling and could hardly contain himself!  We worked very hard at trying to have him be a part of giving gifts this year.  We didn't want it to be all about what he was going to receive.  He loved bringing gifts to his teachers at school and delivering hot chocolate to our neighbors!  It was extremely difficult, but somehow I was able to restrain myself and only purchased three gifts for him.  I have several friends that do this with their children and thought it was something I'd like to do some day!

We bought him a Little People Nativity set, a Lightning McQueen blanket with his name embroidered on it, and an add-on Lego Duplo set (grandparents bought him a nice starter set).

He was so thrilled about every gift and was just soo much fun!  There is just nothing like Christmas with a two year old!

My precious boy on Christmas eve

The lego duplos have been a huge hit!

Loving the easel the grandparents bought him!

Reading a book to Grandma

Working on his puzzle from Nana

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas as well!

Love,

Amber
